Desilucy's Place

About Me

Kevin with Desi and Lucy
My experience with video editing and the Movie Maker program started back when my wife and I lost our 11 yr old nephew Kevin (that's him pictured at the right with Desi and Lucy) on my wife's side of the family. He died of "Ewing's Sarcoma". It was then that I saw a DVD slide show of family pictures created by someone associated with the funeral home. I was impressed with the memorial slide show. After doing some research, I stumbled across Movie Maker on my system along with the forum. Many know me as "desilucy" there.

Recently, I have been spending a great deal of time in the "technical support" forum trying to assist other members with their issues. While there, I realized there were not enough people assisting compared to the volume of issues being asked about. I started researching and taking notes. I had at one time over 50 threads I was tracking. During my research, I found myself continually going back to the same places to research a specific problem. It was then that I realized that a repository of "common problems" and "how to's" would be a useful tool to have available.

**To get a chuckle at my expense, read this forum post.

Where did my forum name come from?

My forum name derives from two of my three dogs. "Desi and Lucy". They are Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mixes. At the time I joined the forum, my wife and I did not have our third dog. She originally belonged to our nephew, and he named her "Angel". Angel is pure breed Golden Retriever. We are now raising her. You'll notice the visitor counter...yep, that's Desi and Lucy!
